Non-rural providers can qualify for American Rescue Plan's $8.5 billion rural fund

Eligibility for the $8.5 billion in COVID-19 rural fund hinges on whether patients, not providers, are rural. CommonSpirit Health, a 140-hospital system with north of $30 billion in revenue, plans to apply for a portion of the money.
